How to Support Your Clients Through Social Media
Social media has over the past five years become entrenched in the business landscape. More businesses are now using it to engage with their customers and generate potential leads. Social marketing is booming and most businesses are aiming to take advantage of it for their own purposes. This has not always been effective in part because most businesses are putting themselves first.
In order for businesses to have success on social media they need to have their clients at the forefront of their minds. So instead of thinking how you can convert your likes into leads, why not think about your clients. What do they want? It is relatively simple but not enough businesses put their customers first.
Here are 3 key points that must be part of your social media strategy.
Listen
Such an easy word but not always followed. This means paying attention, letting the conversation flow and really listening to the social media chatter. What are your audience saying, what are they thinking and how does this interest you? If you don’t listen, you will not be able to gain information that is useful for your business. Are they complaining about your business? Take the feedback and turn it into a positive.
Learn
By really listening, you will be able to discover and identify what your audience wants and needs. What you may perceive as negative feedback is actually an opportunity to make an impression on your customer. Learn from the feedback to determine your customer’s needs. If you are unable to provide what they need then your audience will go elsewhere.
Develop
Once you have determined what it is that your audience wants and needs you then must provide them with this. Develop a content strategy to support this. Does your audience want some particular type of content? Are they after some type of information? Can you solve their problems by developing content which answers their questions? What format do they want it in? Plan and develop so you are able to engage them effectively.
Social media is a two way communication channel. So put your customer first and engage with them. Try it and see what happens!
